Word Unscrambler

Type your letters and get every word they can make — longest and highest-scoring first, with Scrabble points on each word. Use ? for a blank tile.

How it works

The unscrambler checks your letters against 152,405 dictionary words (2–12 letters, from the ENABLE word-game lexicon — the list behind most word games). A word counts if it can be built from your letters, using each letter at most as many times as you have it; a ? blank can stand for any letter. Results are grouped by length and ordered by Scrabble score, so the plays that matter come first.

Worked example: the letters listen hide six 6-letter anagrams — enlist, inlets, listen, silent, tinsel and elints — plus shorter finds like nest, line, tile, sent and tin. Try it above: type listen and watch the full list appear.

Frequently asked questions

Which dictionary does it use?

The ENABLE lexicon (172,822 words) — the standard open word list for word games. This page searches its words of 2–12 letters. Very long or obscure Scrabble plays beyond 12 letters are not included.

How do blank tiles work?

Type ? (or * ) where a blank stands. A blank can become any letter, and words found with it are marked in the results count. Scrabble rules allow up to two blanks.

Why does every word have a number?

That is the word's Scrabble score — the sum of its letter values (Q and Z are worth 10, J and X 8). It does not count board bonuses like double-word squares, which depend on placement.

Can it solve Wordle too?

For Wordle use the companion Wordle Solver: it filters by green, yellow and gray clues instead of unscrambling a rack.
