Enter an amount, pick two currencies, and get the converted value instantly. Rates are European Central Bank reference rates via Frankfurter, refreshed every time the page loads, with the rate date labelled below the result.
Rates: ECB reference rates via Frankfurter, dated 2026-10-23 (snapshot shown while live rates load).
Converted amounts are estimates from reference rates. Banks and card issuers add their own spread and fees, so the amount you actually receive will differ slightly.
How it works
All rates are stored per US dollar, so any pair converts through it: converted = amount × (rate of target ÷ rate of source), where each rate is "how many units of that currency one US dollar buys". The source rates are the European Central Bank daily reference rates, served by Frankfurter (api.frankfurter.dev, no key needed); the page re-fetches them on every load and, if Frankfurter is unreachable, falls back to open.er-api.com — and if both fail it converts from the snapshot embedded in the page, labelled with its date. Worked example (ECB rates dated 2026-10-23): 1 USD = 0.89342 EUR, so $100 → 100 × 0.89342 = €89.34; $100 → 100 × 0.74804 = £74.80; $100 → 100 × 156.8 = ¥15,680. Reversed: €100 → 100 ÷ 0.89342 = $111.93. Estimates only — not a rate quote. Your bank or card issuer will apply its own spread and fees.
Frequently asked questions
Where do the rates come from?
The European Central Bank daily reference rates, via Frankfurter. The ECB publishes them each weekday around 16:00 CET; this page fetches the newest set on every load and labels the date it is using.
Why does my bank give a different rate?
Banks and card issuers convert at their own rate, typically the reference rate plus a spread of 1–3%, plus sometimes a flat fee. The gap between this page and your statement is that spread, not an error here.
What if the rates are a few days old?
ECB rates are only published on weekdays, so a weekend or holiday always shows the last business day. The page labels its date, and if live rates cannot be reached it says so and uses its dated snapshot.
Which currencies are included?
30 major currencies: USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AUD, CAD, CHF, CNY, NZD, SEK, NOK, DKK, PLN, CZK, HUF, ILS, INR, MXN, BRL, ZAR, TRY, KRW, SGD, HKD, THB, PHP, MYR, IDR, ISK and RON.
Can I convert crypto or precious metals?
No — this converter covers fiat currencies only, at ECB reference rates.
